An approval status can be assigned to a treatment-planned procedure in the Edit Procedure, Delete Procedure, and Enter Procedure(s) dialog boxes; in the progress notes of Chart and Treatment Planner; and by right-clicking procedures in the Treatment Plan Case Setup section on the Navigation panel of Treatment Planner. The status for a procedure is shown in the AP column of the Ledger-Treatment Plan view of Ledger and in the AP column in the progress notes of Chart and Treatment Planner. You can define up to 254 approval statuses.
To customize Approval Status
In the Practice Definitions dialog box, in the Definition Type list, select Approval Status.
The corresponding definitions appear in the list to the right.
Do any of the following:
If there are fewer than 254 definitions, to add a definition, do the following:
With any definition selected, under Definition Text, replace the existing abbreviation in the first box (which can be up to three characters in length) and the existing text in the second box (which can be up to 25 characters in length).
Click Add.
Notes:
This button is available only if there are not already 254 definitions.
The new definition is added in the first available spot (if there are no gaps in the sequence, it will be the last item) and given an ID.
To edit a definition, do the following:
Select a definition.
Note: Changing the definition for an approval status affects all procedures that have that approval status assigned to them.
Under Definition Text, replace the existing abbreviation in the first box (which can be up to three characters in length) and/or the existing text in the second box (which can be up to 25 characters in length).
Click Change.
To delete a custom definition, do the following:
Select a custom definition.
Note: Delete the definition for an approval status only if you know that it is not assigned to any procedures. If you delete the definition for an approval status that has been assigned to any procedures, the next status in the definition list will be assigned to those procedures (or if the last definition in the list was the one deleted, the status will be blank for those appointments), and single quotation marks ('') will appear in the AP column; this could leave Dentrix Enterprise in an unstable condition.
Click Delete.
A confirmation message appears.
